The unions fund the Labour Party – that is the actual party, the offices, the staff, the leaflets and even the postage, The rich donors do none of that. They just gift (or grift) money to the ‘private office of’ their favoured ones, or pay for the concert tickets, clothes, sunglasses, It’s a joke. Why would someone paid so much sell themselves for a suit or a pair of glasses? Or even a dozen pairs??
So if the unions collectively just said “We pay for this party, run it properly or get out” that would be it. The sad and shocking fact is that all of Starmer, McSweeney and Wes Streeting’s misdeeds have been allowed and facilitated by the leaders of the big unions, with the exception of Unite. Well done to Sharon Graham and Daviid Agbley for refusing to endorse Starmers piss-poor manifesto and his hand-picked list of nodding dog candidates. But we were the only ones. Now the tide is turning and Unite can help convert the other unions to the cause of righteous reshaping of the Labour Party. But not if we storm off and leave! Don’t let the rats keep what they have taken.
In the Labour Party: We should go all out to get rid of Keir Starmer and his inept clique. I have never known a politician so despised. Rightly despised. We need to get together with the other unions and get rid, get shut, and return the Labour Party to a working class party under working class control. Then we will get some sense!
